I was contacted today by a producer from CBS Network News about doing a story on My quest to be the #1 Snakes on a Plane fan. She talked to me and said she wants to do a face to face interview. She is looking for a local affiliate that can do the interview aned send it to them to air nationally. I hope we can work it out Seems like national publicity is the only thing that can help me win this one.
The guy in first place has as of this moment 33,249 votes. In 3 seconds it will likely be 37,000. Lets see nope only 33,283. He got over 13,00,14,000,15,000,16,000 votes today alone so far. It ‘s really weird because up until last night he had only 20,000 plus change after 30 days.
Seems kinda weird huh?
I was trying to figure out who he was, because my friend told me that he won a contest in high school by writing a simple java based script to fix the voting….
so I googled “http://www.snakesonaplane.com/fansweeps/index.html?votingUser=” and a link to some blog came up, and someone called him “ytmnd max” and if he has anything to do with ytmnd that site gets enough fucking hits a day that he’s probably not cheating.
I signed up.

I googled “http://www.snakesonaplane.com/fansweeps/index.html?votingUser=” to find out who the people were that are trying to win (which is how I found you.) and I noticed that someone called him “ytmnd max” if he has anything to do with ytmnd.com we’re fucked.

Yeah he is that max.
It’s just that up until yesterday he was only at 20,000 some odd votes and then in the space of one day his vote count doubles and keeps increasing by 1000 an hour. Just seems suspicious is all we’re saying.

I noticed Max, who was in the lead for awhile, just jumped up in votes big time. Previously, when he was around 20,000 or so, those were all legitimate votes to my knowledge. He created ytmnd.com. I think he’s a pretty cool guy, so when I noticed the link on his site, I said, why not?
But his votes jumped drastically in the last day or so and was obviously vote hacking. But it couldn’t have been him. I mean, when you’re in the lead with actual votes, why make fake ones and risk losing everything?
Then that willy the willy guy voted hacked to 90K+ votes. Then I noticed someone else created three different accounts named “THISCONTEST,” “ISEASY,” and “TOHACK.” Each had 852 votes.
My biggest qualm is with the people running this contest. It obviously flawed and easy to hack. I mean, if someone wanted to, they could votehack for you and then YOU would get kicked out of the competition. Not fair at all, right? Someone obviously votehacked. Either someone who was angry he was in the lead or someone who was an overzealous supporter and wanted to votehack so willy the willy wouldn’t win.
But you seem to have been doing grassroot work here. I mean, you even got a tattoo. That’s pretty hardcore. I don’t know Max personally. All I know is that he has a great site, and so I voted for him. It doesn’t really matter to me if he wins or not, although it would be cool to hear that he won and that I helped in some small way. I wish you luck too.
Personally, I think the top-three voted people should all get a chance to see the movie in a private screening or at the premiere. You’re obviously dedicated. I have no doubt that you’re a huge SOAP fan. But max has a popular site and a lot of people who will, mindlessly or not, vote for him.
I’m just angry he got banned. It wasn’t his fault. The system is flawed and the people running the contest are too lazy to do any research. I’d like to see him back on with his legitimate votes is all. I mean, you’d hate it too if someone vote hacked your entry and then you got kicked, right?
Anyway, I never know why I feel the need to put my two cents in on things like this. Just thought I would.

Ah haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa but cheaters never win! Or at least they are not suppose to. That’s why I sent out an email to 3 different addys for the contest asking them:
To Whom it May Concern:
There are many of us who are wondering how it is that Max now has 60,000 plus votes when he only recently had 20,000 plus votes. While we believe in the possibility of having a decent lead, we find it incomprehensible that he has acquired over 40,000 votes in less than a couple days. There are rumors that he is using a bot. Hopefully if this is true, you all have a way to find this out. Many of the people in the running for this contest are working hard and it would certainly be a shame if someone found a way to buck the system and is cheating. Perhaps it’s all just rumor and conjecture, and if Max is truly getting his votes in a legal and fair manner, more power to him. However, where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire.

ronin137 I agree with you.I’m really sorry that max got screwed by someone else. I would have no problem with him being reinstated with his original vote count.

I heard he might be reinstated with his legit votes and if thats true, it will still be around 20,000 votes. Might as well put some better competition in there, huh? good luck, man!
